The annual MSI PhD Conference provides an excellent opportunity for students to practice presentation skills and to meet and network with colleagues and peers from across the campus who are also working in material sciences.

The MSI PhD Conference is an exciting opportunity for PhD students whose work falls under the 'material science' umbrella to engage with the Material Science Instiute (MSI) here in Lancaster and to meet and network other researchers.

The conference is also a chance for second / third year students (or keen first years!) to practise presenting their research in a conference style - perfect for pracitising for larger settings such as the FST Christmas Conference or future external conferences.

The MSI is proud to support collaborative and interdisciplinary research in materials across the university and the conference is just one of a number of activities being run this year to help PhD students connect with the institute and form a stronger materials phd network at Lancaster. Further information on activities or programs such as our Young Scientist Travel Award (which is to enable and encourage students to attend or present at external conferences) will be provided at the conference. The MSI is always keen to hear what future events or activities students might want to participate in and the conference is a great chance to get involved in this dialogue.
