My course

Studying Business Management at Lancaster University has so far been an unforgettable experience for me. The degree has opened doors to a wide range of business functions, such as HR, Finance, Marketing, Accounting and so much more, allowing me to reflect on my interests and focus on my desired career path. I've gained valuable skills through the seminars and workshops in each module, such as teamwork, leadership, and communication. I met a diverse range of people from various backgrounds and cultures in these seminars. Hearing their stories whilst working with them on group projects and other interactive activities has also been extremely inspiring.

What makes Lancaster University Management School itself stand out in my opinion is their commitment to their students' career success. The School provides an array of events and resources to help students find internships and job opportunities. Thanks to their exceptional careers team, I was able to secure a summer internship at HSBC, which is going to be a valuable experience that will help me to gain a better understanding of the respective industry. Furthermore, as a student ambassador of LUMS, I have learnt more about the School and sought a lot of purpose in contributing to initiatives such as Open Days.

Colleges and campus facilities

Beyond the degree, Lancaster University provides an incredible experience as a whole. The collegiate system creates a sense of community and belonging that enriches the college spirit and gives opportunities to socialise. The university's world-renowned library is my favourite spot on campus, providing a serene and productive environment for studying. I adore the quiet meeting rooms you can book to both work with teams or friends, or simply socialise!

Alexandra Square right outside the library is also a great place to take a break from work, have a snack from one of many food retailers on campus such as Greggs and Sultans and enjoy the short-lived sunny weather! While the ducks on campus may steal your food outside, they are undeniably a great addition and mascot to the University.

The city of Lancaster

Lancaster is a small and historical city that's dominated by university students, offering plenty of amenities such as supermarkets, nightclubs, restaurants, and shops. The Sugarhouse, a dance venue run by the Students' Union, is an affordable and safe place to enjoy a night out with friends. Morecambe, a beach-side town, is just a short drive away and a great place to relax and grab some delicious fish and chips or ice cream. One of my favourite weekend activities.

Living on campus during the first year and in Lancaster during the second year has been a great experience for me. I've experienced both halls living and house living, giving me a well-rounded university experience. The train station in Lancaster is also excellent, providing connectivity to major UK cities in under three hours and Manchester in just one!

Overall, my experience studying Business Management at Lancaster University has been incredibly rewarding. The degree has given me a solid foundation in business, and the university has provided an unforgettable experience that's enriched my personal growth. The University's commitment to their students' success has been invaluable, and I would highly recommend it to anyone considering pursuing a degree in business management.
