The Department of Accounting and Finance at Lancaster University is delighted to host the third edition of the Lake District Workshop in Corporate Finance.

The Department of Accounting and Finance at Lancaster University is delighted to host the third edition of the Lake District Workshop in Corporate Finance. The workshop will take place at The Belsfield Hotel in Bowness-on-Windermere, located in the Lake District, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The workshop will be on June 1 and 2, 2026.

We are delighted to announce Professor Isil Erel as our distinguished keynote speaker for the workshop. Professor Erel is the David A. Rismiller Chair in Finance and the academic director of the Risk Institute at the Fisher College of Business of the Ohio State University. She is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER)’s Corporate Finance program and a research member at the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI). Her research focuses on corporate finance, with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and financial institutions. Isil is currently the Executive Editor of the Review of Corporate Finance Studies.
