Corporate Finance is a key research area in the Department of Accounting and Finance. The research undertaken is of the highest level and is internationally recognised for its excellence in both theoretical and empirical corporate finance.

Faculty members in this area have published in leading finance journals such as: The Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, The Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Review of Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, and many other high-quality finance journals.
Our faculty members regularly present at major international conferences (such as those organised by the American Finance Association, European Finance Association, Western Finance Association, Society for Financial Studies and Financial Intermediation Research Society). They also maintain close links with researchers at top US and international business schools, as well as at international bodies (European Commission) and central banks (most recently, Bank of Italy). Our faculty also collaborate with other major UK departments on conference organisation. We also host the annual Lake District Workshop in Corporate Finance, which focuses on the latest developments and features high-quality papers by presenters from around the globe.
