Event Details

This seminar explores how entrepreneurial families can achieve transgenerational prosperity in an increasingly complex and uncertain world characterized by geopolitical instability, technological disruption, demographic change, and evolving wealth dynamics.

Moving beyond the traditional “three-circle model” of family business, the seminar introduces the Entrepreneurial Family Galaxy framework, a broader perspective that conceptualizes entrepreneurial families as interconnected systems of businesses, family offices, foundations, investment vehicles, governance bodies, and family members operating across generations. The seminar will discuss how this expanded perspective reshapes our understanding of family governance, succession, wealth administration, next-generation engagement, and long-term value creation. Particular attention will be devoted to the emergence of new roles within entrepreneurial families, such as “family creators,” and to the governance challenges associated with coordinating increasingly diversified family ecosystems. Building on recent research and insights from De Massis and co-authors, the seminar will also outline a future research agenda on entrepreneurial families, transgenerational entrepreneurship, family offices, succession, and the evolving interface between family, business, and wealth. The session aims to stimulate interdisciplinary dialogue while offering practical implications for entrepreneurial families, advisors, and policymakers seeking to sustain continuity, innovation, and legacy across generations.
