Professor Wei He

Visiting Researcher

Profile

Professor Wei He is a visiting scholar to the Department of Management Science, hosted by Professor Dong Li. She received her Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering from Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Nanchang, China, in 2010. She is currently a faculty member at the School of Business Administration, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, and a visiting scholar at Lancaster University.

Her research lies at the intersection of organizational behavior and organizational theory in digital and platform-based contexts. She examines how emerging technologies—such as artificial intelligence, digital platforms, and information systems—reshape organizational processes, decision-making, and user behavior.

A central focus of her recent work is understanding how individuals and organizations make sense of complex and uncertain environments, particularly in digitally mediated settings. She investigates how these sensemaking processes give rise to shared norms, identities, and patterns of action, and how they influence organizational outcomes.

External role: Professor Wei He is a member of leading academic associations, including the Academy of Management and the International Association for Chinese Management Research.

She serves as a peer reviewer for major research funding agencies, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and for multiple provincial-level research programs.

In addition, she acts as a reviewer for several international academic journals, including the SSCI-indexed journal Chinese Management Studies, as well as Journal of Global Economics, Management and Business Research and Asian Journal of Economics, Business and Accounting.
