I studied my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in Banking and Finance at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. Once I completed my Bachelor’s degree, my aim was to gain additional knowledge in the area of entrepreneurship and innovation because I believed that this was going to be essential knowledge for most companies in the coming decades. I decided upon Lancaster University Management School due to its credibility, as highlighted by the fact that it is ranked as one of the top 10 business schools in the UK. I also chose Lancaster because it is rated as one of the safest cities in the UK, and it is in a prime location when it comes to travelling around the rest of the UK.

Having come from a family business background, I was most interested in learning more about how to sustain a business successfully as an entrepreneur, and how to achieve and maintain a long-term competitive and innovative business strategy. The most beneficial aspect of the MSc Entpreneurship, Innovation and Practice course to me was the opportunity I had to work with real SMEs when it came to the company project. Moreover, the Masters class involved a variety of guest speakers from different backgrounds, who spoke about problematic and interesting business issues. This helped to enrich my practical knowledge and experience which will always be of use to me when it comes to solving problems.

Overall I really enjoyed my time at Lancaster – it was an amazing experience which enabled me to learn and study in a new and different environment. Being exposed to the naturalness and peacefulness of Lancaster city and Lancaster University for the year is something I will always cherish.

As part of my degree, I was given the opportunity to go on exchange to the University of St Gallen in Switzerland for four months. The courses I enrolled in there were Management Innovation, Strategy Crafting and Executing and Visual Literacy for Management, as well as German for Beginners class (A1). This was a great opportunity for me to meet new friends, learn about a new culture, study in a different language and gain a new perspective on academic learning due to the variety of courses offered.

I am now working as an Assistant General Manager at Kaset Phattana Industry Co, Ltd in Thailand. My primary responsibilities are to implement an ERP (enterprise resource planning) programme which will help to integrate the entire operating activities of the company. The adaptability and teamwork skills that I gained from my time at Lancaster have helped me a lot in delivering great pieces of work for Kaset Phattana, and in being able to coordinate with people from different fields within the company.
