Why did you choose to study at LUMS?

Lancaster is one of the most reputable universities in the UK. It has a strong faculty along with a good quality of teaching and learning environment. Especially, LUMS is one of the most outstanding management schools in the world which is triple accredited. In addition to academic excellence, LUMS has career workshops, one-to-one advice and employer events, which would enable me to make an early and substantial contribution to my future employer.

What was the best thing about your course?

The course I chose is delivered by the Economics Department, providing a study of finance and economics both quantitatively and qualitatively. It’s unique in the UK. This programme provides an excellent curriculum plan such as Corporate Finance, Investment, Advanced Macroeconomics and Econometrics. They are a great help to my future career, providing me with more opportunities when choosing my future job. Also, it deepened my understanding of finance and economics and equipped me with more practical skills to solve finance problems.

What/Who inspired you most at LUMS and why?

Dr Yuting Bai, who teaches Mathematical Economics, inspired me most. At the very beginning, I felt very anxious due to the difficulties of the course. Dr Bai helped me deal with these difficulties by offering extra office hours. Her way of explanation was easily understood. She was not only helping me academically, but also gave me lots of advice in my choices of masters and future career plans. Her rich experience stimulated me and directed me to make a better decision.

What are the best things about living in Lancaster?

Lancaster University student accommodation is some of the best student accommodation among all universities in the UK. It is fully equipped with study room, launderette, 24/7 porter services etc. Besides, there is a sports centre and several outdoor sports facilities on campus. I can work out and relax after study. Unlike universities in big cities, Lancaster University has a large green area, enabling students like me to focus on study better.
