Why did you choose to study at LUMS?

LUMS is a high-ranked business school, which provides a variety of high-quality master degrees. Particularly, I chose LUMS because I aspired to establish a career in digital innovation and I think that there is no better place for it considering the continuous development of its Innovation hub.

What was the best thing about your course?

The best thing about my course was the consultancy project I took over, which was a part of my dissertation. Through this experience, I tested in practice all the theoretical knowledge I gained the first two terms.

What/who inspired you the most at LUMS and why?

The most inspiring element of LUMS was its cooperation with high-tech companies, such as IBM and Huawei, since I had the pleasure to attend lectures and exchange ideas from people coming from the real business world.

Describe your time at LUMS in three words.

Challenging, intriguing, collaborative.

What are your best memories of your time at Lancaster?

Lancaster feels like home due to its friendly staff and campus. What I liked the most is that you can always find new things to experience within the campus (events, societies, conferences, etc.)

What are the best things about living in the Lancaster area?

Lancaster's location is really convenient for short trips, since it is close to Manchester, Liverpool, but also Scotland. Living in Lancaster you can easily organize hiking excursions as well.

What impact did scholarships or funding have on your degree experience?

Major because I could feel more secure, something that led me to focus on my studies.

Which parts of your Lancaster experience were the best preparation for your job?

In my point of view, one of the main advantages of this master’s degree is the cooperation of the department with the multinational company IBM, which gave us the opportunity to gain feedback from professional and try to implement our own solutions under real-life circumstances. Accordingly, "Hackathon" experience was the best way for us to experience how the life of consultants looks like and to test ourselves under pressure and time restrictions.

What impact has your Lancaster experience had on your career?

Lancaster is a well-known university with a high reputation, as well as LUMS offers courses adjusted exactly to the business needs of the current market. Thus, I think that this combination made my profile competitive and gave a boost to my CV.

Is there anything else about your LUMS experience that you'd like to share with us?

The fact that from the beginning of the master's degree we 've been divided into learning groups, constitutes a further asset because I had the opportunity to cooperate with different people from totally different backgrounds and disciplines from mine since I managed to see things from different perspectives.
