What did you do prior to joining the MBA?

Before commencing my MBA journey, I established the groundwork for my marketing career through roles in Brand Management at The Hut Group, overseeing localized campaigns and product launches in the APAC regions.

Why did you decide to do an MBA?

I chose to join the Executive MBA to strengthen my business acumen, broaden my strategic thinking and bolster confidence in my leadership and management capabilities. I wanted to take ownership of my personal development to propel my career forward by immersing myself in a dynamic cohort of experts spanning across various disciplines and industries, thereby expanding my perspective in the business world.

Why did you choose Lancaster University?

Having been a LUMS student previously, I had firsthand experience of the exceptional lecturers and robust support network available. With Lancaster's distinguished rankings and accreditations, I was confident it was the ideal institution for maximizing my learning experience. Given Lancaster's strong reputation in the realm of strategy, the subject I sought to gain deep insights into, I was enthusiastic about continuing my educational journey there.

What did you enjoy most about the Lancaster MBA?

My MBA journey was incredibly fulfilling, and the aspect I cherished most was the people I encountered. The camaraderie within my class, the exchange of knowledge and experiences across diverse functions, disciplines, and industries added immense value. The bonds forged during this journey are invaluable, and I'm delighted to maintain lasting connections with my fellow colleagues.

The MBA brought multifaceted benefits, notably enhancing my knowledge through modules. A distinct transformation I observed was the heightened confidence in managing stakeholders. In my role overseeing projects across all business functions, the MBA equipped me with improved communication and team management skills. The program's emphasis on reflection and emotional intelligence proved pivotal, enabling me to better understand and align with the priorities and agendas of various functions. This, in turn, facilitated broader organizational buy-in for the key projects I led.

Completing the MBA has significantly enriched my professional journey, leaving a lasting impact on my career. Amidst the program, I transitioned to the FMCG sector. The insights gained helped me discern my passion and the type of role conducive to a long-standing career. This clarity empowered me to make informed choices, aligning myself with a job and company that actively supports my continuous growth.
