A special roundtable discussion on the relationship between Halloween and consumption, markets, & society.

The LUMS Centre for Consumption Insights (CCI) will be holding a roundtable discussion with students over Microsoft Teams on the relationship between Halloween and consumption, markets, & society.

Each year, British consumers spend millions of pounds on Halloween, with much of the money being spent on confectionery, decorations, and costumes. Night-time businesses and services benefit tremendously from Halloween festivities also with various club events, parties, and themed occasions scheduled in major cities.

The roundtable discussion will centre on the intersection of pseudo-paganism, consumerism, and popular culture in contemporary Halloween celebrations.

The session is intended to be casual, participative, and friendly.

Audience participation is absolutely welcome so please do join and share your own stories and opinions of Halloween!
