How can female entrepreneurs help to mitigate against a rural/urban divide?
In this masterclass, aimed at prospective undergraduates, Helene Ahl, professor of Business Administration at Jönköping University in Sweden and a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at LUMS, talks about her research on women’s entrepreneurship in rural Sweden, and explores whether it provides a means for greater independence for women.
We will look at the types of businesses that women own and operate, their profitability, their contributions to rural development, and the kinds of support that would best help them. We will also hear from some of the female entrepreneurs themselves, via short video clips, who will tell us what business ownership means for them.
