Julian Daly

Julian is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales having qualified with KPMG. After Lancaster University, he joined KPMG, where he worked in both London and Long Island, New York, USA. He is currently President of the ICAEW Beds, Bucks and Herts District Society of Chartered Accountants.

He has spent some 40 years largely working with the financial services sector.
Julian Daly is Finance Director of OLIM Property Limited, an investment business managing over £1bn of commercial property portfolios for pension funds, investment trusts and Oxford colleges.

He is also Finance Director for a small family recruitment business based in Salisbury, Wiltshire.

Julian gets most job satisfaction from helping businesses grow profitably. OLIM Property has grown 3 fold since 2012.

At Close Brothers Group plc’s asset management division he was CFO. There he helped the division lift income from c£50m in 2000 to c£100m when he left in 2009. This was achieved through a mixture of acquisition and organic growth. He also sat on the boards of the venture capital and private equity subsidiaries. Julian remains part of the committee that values investments managed by the now independent Growth Capital Partners LLP, an investor in growing SME’s.

For the 6 years to May 2017 he was Leader of St Albans City & District Council before stepping back due the growth of OLIM Property.

Currently Julian is chair the St Albans Council Audit Committee and is an independent member of the Rothamsted Enterprises Limited Audit Committee, based at Rothamsted Research.

From October 2013 to September 2017 he sat on The Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership Board.
