The pandemic has prompted businesses to change how they operate. There has been a lasting shift to more remote and hybrid working in many organisations, but this presents new challenges for businesses and workers alike.

The shift has the potential to exacerbate existing workplace inequalities, and lead to the emergence of new ones, with Work Foundation research showing almost nine in 10 workers do not want to return to pre-Covid working patterns.

What Matters Now: Leading Hybrid Teams is the latest in a series of public webinars from Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) addressing the big issues facing society and business today and tomorrow.

Members of the Work Foundation, the leading think tank for improving work in the UK and part of Lancaster University, will present research carried out alongside the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) into the impact of hybrid working on different worker groups.

They will be joined by Dr Lara Pecis, from LUMS, and industry figures to discuss previous Work Foundation research on the effect of the pandemic on work placements and internships in a hybrid environment, and the impact and potential future of hybrid working in the North of England, as well as that carried out in LUMS.

Work Foundation Director Ben Harrison will chair the event and will be joined for discussion of the report’s findings and wider issues by Dr Pecis and representatives from the Work Foundation and the CMI.

The event is open to all, and there will be opportunities for questions throughout.
