Students vote Andrea Quail 'staff member of the year'

Andrea Quail has been voted the ‘LUMS Staff Member of the Year’ by students at Lancaster University Management School.

Andrea has been with the Department of Accounting and Finance since 1997. During that time she has taken a key role in the Department’s Undergraduate Support Team. Her role is now to support Part 1 students with all administrative issues.

Andrea received her award from LUMS Dean, Professor Sue Cox, at the annual Winter Ball, which took place at the Imperial Hotel in Morecambe on 4 December.

The Department of Accounting and Finance has one of the largest undergraduate programmes at Lancaster University: Accounting and Finance students represented 10% of total University undergraduate admissions in 2014/2015.

In addition, Andrea co-ordinates the administrative side of the Department’s flagship undergraduate programme  – the . Andrea’s responsibility has further expanded in the current academic year to encompass the new Academic Tutor Co-ordinator role, which involves co-ordinating and monitoring the Department’s academic tutor system.

The Accounting and Finance Department were thrilled to learn that Andrea had been awarded the ‘LUMS staff member of the year’ award for 2014. This award was voted for by the students and therefore signals the fantastic job that Andrea does in providing support for the large and growing student cohort.
