Inspiring student entrepreneurs

Start-up Stories is a series of story-telling events where alumni entrepreneurs share their learning journeys with aspiring students.

Eighteen Lancaster alumni have taken part so far, sharing their experiences at three events (in November 2014, March 2015 and June 2015). A further six are set to participate in the next event, on the 18th November 2015.

A short video, produced by enterprising first year student, Sara Procter, gives an insight into these events. The video features some of the advice shared by one of the June 2015 event speakers – Allan Costa, a MSc Information Technology, Management & Organisational Change alumnus and entrepreneur.

Speaking about the video, Amanda Brooks, Enterprise Co-ordinator, said: “This video captures the magic of the wisdom and learning in the air when alumni and students get together. Thank you to the twenty-four alumni who have agreed to take part in this series of events. It has been great fun working with you all, and the value of what you have to share will continue to inspire.”

The series has been made possible by entrepreneurial Lancaster Alumni, who have generously given their time to come back to campus to inspire students by telling "warts and all" tales of their own start-up journeys.
