LUMS alumni who completed a placement as part of their degree and current placement students recently came together for an informal reunion at Scarlet’s Bar in London.

The reunion took place on Wednesday 27th April and was hosted by , LUMS Placements and Internships Manager, Rachel Newbury, Head of Alumni and Friends Engagement and Charlotte Lund, LUMS Alumni Coordinator. The event was a great success; it was attended by 50 students and alumni from various degree programmes, such as BBA Management, BSc Marketing Management, BSc Business Studies and BA Management and Entrepreneurship.

The event gave the recent placement alumni the opportunity to engage with Lancaster University and learn about the latest developments. As well as share their experience of completing a placement year and what life is like after graduation. The reunion also gave current placement students the chance to catch up with fellow students, share their stories about their placement experience and talk about how this will impact their final academic year.

Jessica Deninson, a BA Management and Entrepreneurship student, said: "It was a great opportunity to catch up with other current students on placement and helped me to meet people I didn't previously know, so that when I go back for my final year there will be a few more familiar faces, which is always nice."

Rory Daly, the LUMS Placements and Internships Manager said: "It was very nice to reconnect with our alumni, some of whom I remember visiting on placement. Our current placement students enjoyed hearing about how the alumni have developed their careers following their year in industry. It’s clear that our placement students and alumni are wonderful ambassadors for LUMS."

Head of Alumni and Friends Engagement Rachel Newbury said: "This was a fantastic event, bringing together current students and alumni, allowing them to share their experiences. The alumni network provides a great support system for Lancaster's current students as well as bringing graduates together to meet each other and build their professional and social networks. Overall it was great to see it all in action!"

The LUMS Alumni Team's current placement student, Charlotte Lund said: “It was a great event to attend, the turnout was fantastic and it gave me the opportunity to catch up with fellow LUMS students and meet some of our recent graduates.”
