New Study Abroad undergraduate scholarships

Study Abroad students in Germany

28 October 2014

Undergraduate students studying abroad in 2015/16 will be able to benefit from a new Study Abroad scholarship initiative, launched by Lancaster University Management School's international office.

Eligible students will be able to access competitive scholarships in the region of £500 each, to help towards the additional living costs and travel expenses associated with the study abroad placement. Scholarships will be allocated by the School's academic departments, as part of the study abroad application process, and will be based on merit.

The UK currently lags behind other European countries in terms of outgoing student mobility. The LUMS Study Abroad scholarships are designed to encourage more UK students to take up the opportunity of a study abroad year or term as part of their LUMS degree.

LUMS currently offers study abroad destinations to many parts of the world, including Europe, Asia, North America and Australasia. As the study abroad period is included in the degree length, taking a Study Abroad placement does not mean extending the length of studies – LUMS offers an ‘integrated’ Study Abroad placement, which is usually for one year or one term in duration, depending on the programme of study.

For more information about LUMS undergraduate Study Abroad scholarships, current students can contact in the LUMS International Office. Please note that as these scholarships are designed to promote the mobility of UK students, they are open to UK (Home) fee paying students only.
