Student nets placement award after "informative, interesting and engaging" presentation

A judging panel of industry experts and LUMS staff selected Management and European Languages student Ninh Hao, because her “presentation was informative, interesting and delivered in a very engaging manner, while it was clear Ninh had overcome many challenges during her placement.”

The award commemorates Alison Tasker, a student who died while on her placement year.

The competition is open to fourth year LUMS students who have completed an industrial placement and considers how well they have reflected on their learning during their year in the workplace.

Those shortlisted presented a review of their placement to an audience of 150 at the Management School. 

Professor Linda Hendry, LUMS Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies, chaired the judging panel, which also included Phillip Haig, University Recruitment Partner, Johnson & Johnson; James Hill,  Financial Services Consultant, Accenture Finance & Risk Services;  Louise Briggs, Head of Careers, Alumni & Employer Relations LUMS; Mohammad Shahidinejad, Business and Technology Consultant, IBM; and Amy Reilly, Improvement Manager, Rolls Royce.

Rory Daly, LUMS Placements and Internships Manager, noted the support of Lancaster alumni Amy, Mohammad and James.

“It was particularly pleasing that we had our alumni involved with this event and they commented on the increased focus on employability across LUMS,” he said.
