Supporting trade businesses through the Growth Hub Network

Delegates having a discussion around a table.

05 November 2014

Delegates from across the country attended the recent Lancaster University led workshop on Export and Trade in Tees Valley.

Wave 2 Growth hubs co-hosted the workshop with Tees Valley Business Compass. This event was the second thematic workshop the programme has held, and focussed on sharing knowledge and expertise and facilitating discussion on issues arising for SMEs working in this area.

Guest speakers included John Leer from Tees Valley Business compass, Paul Wright from UK Export Finance,  Matt Reents from UK Trade and Investment and David Hopkins from The Intellectual Property Office. The speaker sessions were concluded by W2GH SME special guest Managing Director and Company Founder Dan Riley from Spearhead Interactive Ltd.

Speakers then formed an expert panel for a delegate question and answer session to share thoughts on best practice and further discuss the focusses of the day.

Stella Rice from New Anglia Growth Hub said:

“We need to work as a team to share our successes and also our challenges…I’ve made some great contacts today and it’s going to be great to move forward with them and share what we have learned so far.”
