The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) is offering 15 scholarships for applicants accepted for admission to eligible online Master's programmes at Lancaster University in the Academic Year 2024-2025.
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office scholarships for Lancaster University courses are intended for professionals employed in the healthcare sector of low and middle-income Commonwealth countries in the continent of Africa. We will therefore not consider applications from outside this region.
Award
Each scholarship will cover full tuition fees for part-time study over 2-5 years for one of the following Lancaster University courses:
- Medical Leadership MSc
- Leadership Practice MSc (Healthcare Service Improvement)
Eligibility
To apply for a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship, you must:
- Be a citizen of or be granted refugee status from an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
- Be permanently and continually resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
- Hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard. A lower qualification and sufficient relevant experience may be considered in certain cases.
- Provide at least one reference
- Hold an offer to start your chosen course of study in 2024

Application Process
This is a TWO-PART process, with TWO SEPARATE deadlines.
Part one
Apply to the eligible programme of your choice through Lancaster University.

The deadline for applications to Lancaster University is 22 March 2024.
To secure an offer you must meet Lancaster University entry requirements.
Part two
Apply for the Commonwealth Scholarship
Information on how to apply can be found on the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission’s (CSC) website.
Before applying, please be sure to read the Eligibility Information on the Commonwealth Scholarships webpage.
Remember, you must include all supporting documentation.
The deadline for applications to the CSC is 28 March 2024.
Notification
The University will conduct its own recruitment process and nominate selected applicants to the CSC in May 2024. The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission selection committee will select Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholars from the shortlists of nominated candidates and release the final results in July 2024.
