The Roses Alliance: Leeds and Lancaster Growing Together - Enhancing student employability through consistent professional skill development Join us for a collaborative information session on enhancing student employability through consistent professional skills development.

Discover how Leeds University Business School (LUBS) is addressing the challenge of students struggling to recognise and communicate the professional skills being developed on their programmes. Learn about the collaborative project that led to the creation of a unified student programme skills map, the first iteration of which is already live with all post graduate students and will be issued to all undergraduate students in the new year. This work is part of a broader set of strategically important projects at Leeds University aimed at enhancing student learning through skill development, surfacing and articulation.

Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) will showcase a postgraduate professional development module integrating LinkedIn's personalized learning pathways with the LIFECOMP framework. LIFECOMP promotes key personal, social, and learning-to-learn competencies essential for thriving in the 21st century, emphasising formal and informal education. The module systematically embeds career planning and professional development into students’ degrees, fostering self-directed learning. This session will highlight how LinkedIn's course recommendations and career insights align with LIFECOMP, helping students develop emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and leadership while preparing for lifelong learning and career success.
