Management Education in a Changing Climate Paper and Idea development workshop
The British Journal of Management invites contributions to a special issue:
Learning to Manage in a Changing Climate Through Epistemic Change
British Journal of Management (BJM) Special Issue Call for Papers
This special issue invites papers that address questions for managerial education, knowledge, and development across business schools as managers learn to manage in a changing climate:
- What are the alternatives to managerialist epistemologies of climate change?
- Can business schools change from being agents of capitalism to agents of holistic change by promoting epistemological shifts to save the planet?
- How can business schools address different aspects of the environmental crisis, whether categorised as 'environmental' or 'non-environmental,' and elucidate the connections between them?
To support prospective authors in preparing their manuscripts for submission, the guest editors will organise a dedicated hybrid (online and in-person option available) paper and idea development workshop.
Authors interested in taking part are requested to submit either an extended abstract (maximum 2500 words) or a full manuscript by 28th February 2025 via email to pdw-bjm@bath.ac.uk.
Workshop Programme: The full workshop will run 10.30-3pm.
- Morning sessions will include an overview of ‘Getting Published in BJM’ and ‘Avoiding a Desk Reject – how to make a theoretical contribution’ and ‘implications for practice’.
- The afternoon will provide 1-1 feedback on abstracts/papers by the special issue editors, working in small groups.
Attending the workshop is not a condition for submission to the special issue.
Lancaster colleagues are welcome to attend the morning if not submitting a paper/abstract.
