For most disciplines, in order to publish a literature review paper it is necessary to go beyond the merely descriptive and to offer a theoretical or conceptual contribution that advances our understanding of the research domain. This is certainly true for the International Journal of Management Studies, the highest ranked review journal outside the US and with a 5-year impact factor of 15.790. This seminar will explore the different ways of theorizing from literature reviews as a route to publication. It will also consider the broader issues of how to get published in top journals.
