Research Seminar by Malar Hirudayaraj, Associate Professor, Rochester Institute of Technology

As AI use in organisations expands, new Human/AI configurations emerge with unique and inherently complex arrangements in the input, processing, and output of work tasks. Researching this emergent phenomenon is particularly important because rarely organisations recognise and proactively manage the emergence of third-order effects of AI on culture, governance, business models and the very fabric of organisations. We see an important gap in the literature in understanding the effects of AI adoption in organisations and the facilitator role of HRM. To address this gap, we explored: What is the work involved in managing the emergent Human/AI configurations in organisations?
