Thank you for your interest in the MSc Cyber Security at Lancaster University. I’m Dr Antonios Gouglidis, the Programme Director, and I’d be happy to answer any questions you have about the course or Lancaster University.

With 15 years of research experience in cyber security, my passion for the field is evident. I am dedicated to continuing the success of our Master’s degree which has been established for over a decade. This rapidly growing field offers endless opportunities for those with the skills and knowledge to protect against cyber threats. Our course is designed to equip you with the skills necessary to address the complex challenges that arise in this field.

We take pride in the fact that our programme was one of the first in the UK to be certified by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), a certification we have held ever since. Lancaster University provides an ideal environment for Cyber Security studies, given its reputation as one of the UK’s longest-established Academic Centres of Excellence in Cyber Security Research. In addition to that, the University has also been recognised by NCSC with a Gold award for its excellence in Cyber Security Education.

In terms of Lancaster University and the city itself, I have worked at the University and lived in the area for over 10 years and can answer any questions you have regarding life on campus, in the city and the surrounding area.

My name is Chris Lowerson, one of Lancaster University’s Partnerships Development Managers. I work with students on our MSc Cyber Security programme, helping to connect them with industry projects that set you up for success in your future career.

I bring extensive experience from the cyber security sector, being instrumental in both the Greater Manchester and Lancashire Cyber Foundry programmes; I have supported numerous companies through the Digital Innovation Security Hub, and worked closely with the NCSC. I also deliver the Zero Day Entrepreneurship course, which focuses on developing skills for cyber business leaders. This background allows me to bridge the gap between industry needs and academic opportunities, ensuring you gain the practical, real-world experience necessary to thrive in your career.
