My first month at Lancaster - Tingshuo Chen

New LUMS students were recently asked about their impressions of LUMS and Lancaster so far. Here, Tingshuo shares his thoughts.
Based on past experience, many Chinese students pay attention to rankings. For example, QS or other rankings. I am very proud that Lancaster University can remain in the top 150 in the world. I am very happy, and of course it would be better if we can move forward. Of course, as a international student, I will work harder!
This city is very safe and convenient. Students don’t have to worry about their lives at all. From my experience in this month, people are very polite and their lives are in order. There are supermarkets and delicious restaurants in the University. Large chain supermarkets, various retail stores, and Boots (a retail beauty and pharmacy chain) are all in the town. Students can buy according to their needs. And the bus is very convenient. Of course, remember to register for UNIDAYS to get a student discount!
The University dormitory is very comfortable. The apartment manager is very professional and friendly. Before I arrived in the UK, I was actually very worried about accommodation, after all, it was my first time to study abroad. But the accommodation in Lancaster is very quiet, comfortable and convenient. I have fallen in love with it. The studio I booked has a refrigerator, oven, and electric stove. You can live in the dormitory with simple dishes. Of course, you need to pay attention to fire and electricity safety. In addition, express delivery is very convenient, and the administrator is very enthusiastic and polite. I asked other Chinese students, and they were also satisfied with their dormitories.
The school's career assistance is great. We have learned how to write our own resumes and how to prepare for interviews in the first month. The teacher's course is very detailed and rewarding. The most important and important point. The teaching at Lancaster University is first-class, very good! I like this fulfilling feeling. Our teachers are enthusiastic and gentlemanly.
The classmates come from all over the world, and we can communicate with each other and understand each other's culture. Lancaster has many advantages. Looking forward to a better future!
