Prestigious fellowship award for Management School educators

A pair of Lancaster University Management School academics have been recognised for their educational leadership.
Professor Radka Newton and Dr Casey Cross received the Advance HE Principal Fellowship at a special Lancaster University event. They join an elite group of educators at Lancaster – also including LUMS colleagues Professor Linda Hendry and Professor Mark Shackleton – in achieving the accolade.
Only 1% of Advance HE fellows achieve Principal status, which demonstrates awardees’ strategic leadership to enhance student learning, development of policies and strategies, and continuing professional development.
“I am delighted to have been recognised for my sustained engagement as an educational leader,” said Dr Cross, Senior Teaching fellow in the Department of Management Science, and Lancaster University Associate Academic Dean for Students. “It is a significant achievement and inspires me to further develop my education leadership, to continue my focus on improving the student experience and supporting others within the HE community.”
Professor Newton, Personal Chair in the Department of Entrepreneurship and Strategy, added: “This is a significant achievement for any educator committed to pedagogy advancement and transformational leadership in the HE sector.
“My personal experience of being an international student contributed to my professional calling to ensure that as educators we create challenging yet attainable environments in universities. I am truly honoured and grateful for this recognition and excited to continue making a positive impact in the education community.”
