Igor Gusakov of GoodsForecast will present a seminar to the Management Science Department

Abstract: The presentation explores the challenges that impede effective collaboration between academics, industry, and software vendors in the field of demand forecasting and planning. It critically examines the gaps between theoretical advancements in academia, practical implementations in industry, and the commercial objectives of software vendors. Highlighting real-world case studies and personal experiences, the talk invites participants to a discussion aimed at closing these gaps.

Bio: Igor Gusakov is responsible for Integrated Business Planning software development at GoodsForecast, a vendor of forecasting and supply chain planning solutions. He is an Honorary Researcher at the Centre for Marketing Analytics and Forecasting, Lancaster University (UK), and a member of the Foresight Advisory Board.
