”MSc Management graduate Alice-Marie Oxer made the finals in the CMI HE Awards Student of Year competition.

Alice -Marie, who now works at Fujitsu, was one of three students nationally to be shortlisted for the prestigious award.

Alice-Marie said: “I was delighted to have been shortlisted in the top 3 candidates for Student of the Year. Undertaking the CMI accreditation alongside my MSc Management at Lancaster University benefitted me enormously, as it allowed me to transcend the learning environment and apply my knowledge to real company reports and case studies provided by the CMI. Recognising what a valuable accreditation the CMI Level 7 was to me, I used their online resources to help prepare for my future career at Fujitsu, where I now currently work as the EMEIA Offerings Marketing lead for Oracle and SAP Application Services.”

Alice-Marie was nominated by Martine Dawber from the LUMS Careers Team who said: “The CMI HE Awards were created to celebrate the achievements of the 120 UK and international universities and business schools that work with CMI, therefore it is remarkable to have made it into the Top 3 shortlisted candidates.

“We are delighted with this exceptional achievement for Alice, who I personally nominated due to her exemplary engagement and promotion of the benefits of CMI membership and its impact on her employability, management and leadership skills. Alice was an ambitious, career-minded student from the very beginning. Her career focus meant she was the recipient of one of our prestigious High Potential Scholarship awards to fund her studies and she was one of the first members of her cohort to secure a graduate job ready for when she completed the course.

“I am certain that this achievement will motivate our future students to further engage with the excellent CMI resources and networking opportunities available.”
