LUMS family business researcher recognised with Fellowship

Dr Bingbing Ge

Dr Bingbing Ge (Entrepreneurship and Strategy) is one of a select group of global scholars to be awarded the annual Paul R. Lawrence Fellowship.

The award by the Case Research Foundation is in recognition of Dr Ge’s dedication to case-teaching, writing, and research. It provides training in case research, writing, and teaching.

Dr Ge was among less than 10 per cent of applicants who received the fellowship. Her application was praised for “its overall excellence and for your demonstrated interest in case research, writing, and teaching.”

She will be part of a select group of ten Paul R. Lawrence Fellowship recipients to attend the 2022 annual meeting of the North American Case Research Association in Niagara Falls, Canada, in October – their first in-person annual meeting since 2019.

“I’m thrilled to receive the Paul R. Lawrence Fellowship,” said Dr Ge. “It provides me with a unique opportunity to further develop and expand my case research skills, which can only be of benefit to my work here at Lancaster, and to the students I teach every term.”

The Paul R. Lawrence Fellowship follows Dr Ge being awarded a Case Centre Case Writing Scholarship earlier in 2022. That award will help fund research with Kevin Shaw, managing director of Heatherlea (Scotland) Ltd, on what happens to family businesses when the family hands over running of the company to employee ownership rather than the next generation.

Dr Ge talks about the importance of practical impact of her research in this LUMS video: https://youtu.be/CJg5s0t57ZM
