A new Flexible Benefits Portal has launched this week and is open now for any qualifying member of staff who has yet to select a travel benefit for the 2020-21 period.

There are some important changes to the enrolment for travel benefits meaning that qualifying staff, including those who chose to postpone their benefits until January 2021, can now choose to start their benefits at any point until the end of June 2021. The Scheme is continuously open until the end of June and so orders do not need to be placed now, unless staff wish their benefits to start in January. In which case, the order needs to be confirmed before the 30th November.

The scheme has been reviewed and the decision to extend the window aims to make travel options more flexible, more affordable and more sustainable as a measure to help people during the pandemic.

Staff that chose to postpone the start of their benefits to January 2021 must re-confirm their choices before the 30th November in order for the benefits to start in January. Staff who already benefit under the normal Flexible Benefits Scheme for travel are unable to make changes unless they are experiencing a qualifying life event.

For the details of all the various benefits available to staff, visit the Flexible Benefits website or email flexiblebenefits@lancaster.ac.uk with any queries. Other information on travel, and commuting to campus can be found on the Facilities website.
