Get involved in this term’s healthy living activities

This term we see the launch of Lancaster University’s Healthy Living campaign. It provides a range of activities for staff and students to make healthy lifestyle choices, focusing on a healthier mind, body, pocket and planet.

Whether it’s trying a new exercise, making nutritious food and drink choices, or simply taking some time to sit back and socialise, there’s plenty going on this term to help you feel healthy in body and mind.

As part of the campaign the Sports Centre is showcasing its Les Mills group fitness classes. Looking to improve your mind, your body and your life? Why not try a new generation yoga class Les Mills BODYBALANCEor the ultimate combinate of music, dance and exercise with Les Mills BODYJAM. A limited number of £3 off vouchers for classes are available from the Sports Centre reception desk available on a first come first served basis. There are also outdoor activities such as a guided Woodland Walk sessions where you can enjoy some led walks and learn about the history of the estate.

As well as enjoying healthier food options this term by keeping up to date with our ‘Meat Free Monday’ inspiration there are promotions available on the new Yoyo wallet app to make sure your pocket stays healthy too.

Green Lancaster will be continuing to help achieve a healthier planet during the campaign, join the team's weekly ECOWoods sessions and take part in hands-on conservation work. The sessions will take place every Friday either at Forrest Hills or on campus and include activities such as tree planting, spring bulb planting and wildflower meadow, hedgerow & woodland management. There will also be chance to shop at the pop up ECOShop on Alexandra Square where you can buy preloved student essential household items on a pay as you feel basis.
