I chose to study at LUMS due to the fact that the University is top ten ranked in the UK for BSc Business Studies and that the Management School is a worldwide recognised business school.

The main attraction of the BSc Business Studies programme is the range of different disciplines that are covered. During my three years at Lancaster, I have studied a wide range of modules, including Management, Marketing, Accounting & Finance, Economics and many more. This has given me a wide range of expertise and has enabled me not only to find work more easily after university but has also developed my overall management skills as I am able to manage and understand all aspects of a business.

During the programme there are many forms of assessment, including presentations, essays, exams, and business reports. Students are also fully prepared for work, after studying at Lancaster, throughout the 3 years with a number of different events to increase employability. My favourite module was New Venture Planning, which I recommend all business students take. It involves creating a new business from scratch. For our project, our group created a 50 page business plan and pitched our business idea to a panel of industry leading experts.

I was a member of the Lancaster University Running Club. This was a huge part of my experience at Lancaster. I competed in a number of races and attended multiple weekly training sessions. The club is like a big family and open to all; regardless of experience. The club also has a number of socials, which helped members get to know one another. Lancaster University has been a life changing experience. I have gained lots of skills and knowledge. I am looking forward to applying these in my management career.

I currently have a Distribution Management graduate job with Tesco. The knowledge I gained from learning about many different aspects of business and the regular career events on the business course have helped me massively in my life.
