Celebrated poet and critic, Sandeep Parmar discusses Modernism and her own poetry. Drinks reception to follow
Celebrated poet and critic, Sandeep Parmar will discuss her new Faber edition of the modernist poetry of the wonderful Hope Mirrlees (author of 'Paris' (1919)), will read from her own poetry, and will explore the relationship between the two. Can there be Modernism now and as well as then? Can a poem be an act of reading? Can poetry be a kind of literary criticism? What, indeed, is criticism? All are questions put to the test by the brand new post-critical, Lancaster-based, student-led, journal Errant , who are hosting this event and taking the opportunity to toast their first-ever issue!
