This course is the second part of 2 courses on Python. Whilst attending the first course (https://lancaster-uk.libcal.com/calendar/dsi/python-1 ) is not compulsory, the course notes should be followed through, and the examples completed before attending as it builds upon work done in the previous course.

This will follow on from the first, and we shall learn new things in python to help us take our plotting further, whilst learning how to use python for more general programming. We shall cover

• How to make a program do many things. (for and while loops.
• How do make the code do different things depending upon the data by using conditionals (if statements)
• How to process many data sets with a single command
• Re-using code, how to write functions
• How to make your code more readable.

This course will be closely following the Carpentries lesson: https://swcarpentry.github.io/python-novice-gapminder/ Previous experience has shown that the times listed in this course are not always realistic, and so I have split it into 2 full sessions, this part will cover the post-lunch session

The course will be conducted online and will run from 9:30 until 15:30 with a few breaks throughout the day.
