A virtual common room to discuss divestment activities and their possible effects.

Join Jan Bebbington, and Bert Scholtens (University of Groningen) in our Virtual Common Room, to discuss divestment activities and their possible effects. Divestment (esp from fossil fuel firms) has been a popular response to concerns about climate change with the intention that it will starve companies of resources and reduce emissions in the future. We will consider whether or not this is what happens when divestment happens and, if not, when divestment might be a useful response to the climate emergency.

We welcome staff and students from across Lancaster University, and beyond, who are interested, and feel they would benefit from discussion of these topics with relevant thought leaders.

No need to register - just turn up. The platform we are using is MS Teams, which is free to download, and you can access the meeting at https://tinyurl.com/shareholderdivestment
