Organisations with an annual payroll of more than £3 million pay 0.5% of their payroll into the Government’s Apprenticeship Levy. This levy payment is then held in a digital account, which organisations can use to fund apprenticeship training costs with approved providers. Smaller organisations can also benefit, as the Government will subsidise 90% of apprenticeship costs for those that do not pay into the levy.
LUMS offers two Level 7 Leadership Master’s Degree Programmes that can be funded from this levy. These leadership apprenticeship programmes are ideal to complement an organisation’s leadership development strategy for developing and retaining talent in their organisations, as participants develop practical tools to contribute to organisational performance, alongside their professional development. These apprenticeships are suitable for managers already operating at a senior level in the organisation, or are aspirational to move to this level in the next few years.
