We have a variety of accommodation where students share bathroom facilities. These vary to suit different tastes and budgets, with bedrooms grouped around a communal kitchen in cluster flats, or on levels above a kitchen/lounge in a 'townhouse' style.
Bedrooms with shared bathrooms are available in Bowland, County, Furness, Grizedale and Pendle Colleges.
A lot of our bedrooms with shared bathrooms are arranged in cluster flats around a shared kitchen/diner, and you'll find these in Bowland, Furness, Grizedale and Pendle Colleges.
Some areas also offer more spacious cluster flats that incorporate a lounge with soft seating in to the kitchen/dining space. These are located in Bowland ASH, County Main and Furness Main.
Grizedale and County Colleges also offer this in a 'townhouse' style where bedrooms and shower rooms are located on three floors above a ground floor communal lounge/kitchen/dining space.
It varies in each area but the cluster flats are mostly shared between 4-8 people, with one or two shower rooms and WCs depending on the number sharing.
Eight students share a kitchen, two shower rooms and two WCs in Grizedale College. In Pendle it's between five and eight and the provision of WC/shower rooms rises from one to two per flat where more than five share. Four to six students share the cluster flats in Furness Perimeter, and between five and 18 in Bowland Main, South and East.
The more spacious cluster flats with lounge/kitchen/diners accommodate larger groups. Bowland ASH groups 12 or 13 people in each cluster, with four WC/shower rooms; County Main has groups of between eight and 13 (with three to five WC/shower rooms); and Furness Main clusters are shared between seven and 11 students, with three or four WC/shower rooms each.
Where bedrooms are grouped together in a house rather than a cluster flat (County and Grizedale Colleges only) they are shared by 12 people. Three upper floors accommodate twelve bedrooms and six WC/shower rooms, above a communal living/dining/kitchen area on the ground floor.
Bedrooms with shared bathrooms start from £129.71 per week. Those in cluster flats that incorporate lounge areas in Bowland ASH, County Main and Furness Main cost £146.16 per week, while rooms in the townhouse-style blocks in County and Grizedale cost £159.95 per week.
Your study-bedroom will be fitted out with a bed (with under-bed storage), desk, wardrobe, drawers, notice board, shelves and a chair. Blinds will be at the windows.
Rooms in cluster flats also have a washbasin with a mirror above, but those in the townhouse-style blocks do not. Instead, there will be one in the adjacent shower rooms, which are provided at a ratio of one for every two rooms.
The beds in these areas are all singles measuring 900mm wide by 2100mm long, except for Bowland where they measure slightly shorter at 900x2000mm.
Our fully fitted kitchens are equipped with cookers, microwave, kettle and toaster, fridges and freezers and cupboard storage space, as well as a dining table and chairs. A vacuum cleaner, ironing board and iron are also supplied.
Bowland ASH, County Main and Furness Main - as well as the townhouse-style blocks in County and Grizedale - also feature a lounge with soft seating in each communal kitchen/dining area.
