With all end of term celebration on campus currently on hold, Pendle College were able to bring Lancaster’s famous end of year festivities to our homes with the help of a very illustrious member of their alumni.

Stay at Homestrav took place on Friday the 29th of May and proved to be hugely popular with over 3000 people tuning in to view some of Lancaster University finest artists, bands and DJ’s. Pendle College alum and former music student James May hosted the event from his home and provided some pearls of wisdom from his time at Lancaster, as well as some choice words for members of Bowland College! James helped to present over 4 hours of live music including performances from Pendle Live regulars Leopard Stripes, bands from the Lancaster University Music society, of which James used to be a member as well as a diverse range of performances from a host of other current and former students.

Pendle College JCR set up the event to help raise vital funds for the Bay Hospitals Charity which provides first class treatment and excellent care to patients in the Lancaster and Morecambe area. Overall, the event has raised over £1400 to support the charity which is right at the heart of the Lancaster Community and is helping to lead the regions fight against the Coronavirus.

Speaking on BBC Radio Lancashire James reminisced on his time at Lancaster and explained why he chose to support the event, while Pendle College VP Events and Engagement Daisy Richmond explained more about the work that went into organising the event and how the funds raised will support the Bay Hospitals Charity.

The full interview can be found here (approximately 31 minutes into the show).

The success of the event is testament to the hard work of the Pendle College JCR and musicians involved, funds raised are helping to support vital initiatives in the Lancaster community.
