2023

The Exchange focused on how we can work together to tackle the Climate Emergency, and took place at Lancaster Town Hall.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Andy Schofield said: “The Lancaster University Exchange provides a great opportunity for meaningful interactions and excellent discussions.

“It’s great to see collaborations with those we’ve worked with before, as well as a number of new faces, too – all with the common goal of wanting to make a difference.

“I always come away feeling inspired by the enthusiasm in the room with all the proposals and ideas that ensue, but one thing that shines through from all discussion is that continued communication and working together is key.”

Lancaster University Exchange 2023 – University Update

The Lancaster University Exchange was held on Wednesday 22nd March. The Exchange provided an opportunity for staff and students of Lancaster University as well as members of the local community to discuss key topics. This year the focus was on the Climate Emergency and Net-Zero. The event opened with this update from the Vice-Chancellor.

2022

We were back with a bang in Morecambe at The Platform and the Exchange included a Big Conversation on how we can work together to create inclusive growth in a flourishing place. Responding to participants at previous events, 2022’s Exchange built on these themes with a focus on employment, skills, and regeneration.

2021

This was held virtually and focused on how we can work together to build stronger, more inclusive, prosperous and sustainable partnerships. Ultimately creating positive change across the region.

2020

The second Exchange in 2020 was postponed due to covid but was due to be held at Lancaster Town Hall.

2019

The first Exchange was held at Lancaster Institute of Contemporary Arts (LICA) on campus and brought communities together to look at the university's role in Healthy Communities, Heritage and Culture, Economic Development, and Digital Innovation.
