For a charity donation (suggested donation of £3) you can spend some time with the guide dogs and their owners. Donations will be taken on the day and all funds raised will go to support the work of Guide Dogs UK. If you need a break from your revision or work to relax and focus on some self-care and personal wellbeing, come and spend some time with our canine friends. No booking required. Everyone welcome.

Attendee Information

Guide Dogs supports people who are blind or partially sighted by delivering services which provide independence and mobility. Guide Dogs work with dogs at all stages in their life changing journey, from puppies and working guide dogs, to guide dogs enjoying their retirement. We hope you will enjoy meeting them and of course speaking to their volunteer handler. The lifetime of each guide dog costs the charity around £55,000 and with no support from the government for this, they rely entirely on public donations.

We will have some buckets and a contactless machine on hand today, the minimum donation is £3, though you are welcome to make a larger donation.

It is important that you are relaxed and calm around the dogs and don’t make any loud noises. Please introduce yourself to our Guide Dog Owners, so they know you have approached. Feel free to ask the handlers questions, they are all volunteers for Guide Dogs and are really looking forward to meeting you and telling you about their dog and the charity. Please listen to any advice they give you regarding the dog and the handling of such.

Do not bring food, dog treats or dog toys into the room and please put your phone onto silent. You are welcome to take photos of the dogs and selfies are permitted, but please ask permission of the handlers before taking their photo.

You will spend 10 minutes in the Meet Guide Dogs room and one of the volunteers will let you know when it is time to start to say goodbye to the volunteer and their dog. When time is up please exit the event space promptly.

In the event space you will also find information about volunteering, campaigning and have the opportunity to visit a pop-up shop of Guide Dogs items.

After attending the event and stroking the dogs, please wash your hands.

Photographs and videos will be taken during the event, which may be used in Guide Dogs marketing materials. If you don’t want your photo to be taken, please let us know before you enter the event space.

Guide Dogs relies on public support to continue providing their range of life changing services for those who need their support. By taking part in this event, you will be making a difference.

We hope you enjoy this event and we would like to thank you in advance for any donations you would like to give.
