Speaker: Prof. Vishnu Chandrabalan, Chief Clinical Information Officer, Director of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Secure Data Environment and Honorary Professor at Lancaster University.
Talk Title: Building a modern platform for collaborative healthcare research - messy data, k8s, agents and more.
Talk overview:
Vishnu will talk about his work over the past 6 years on harmonising electronic health record data and building the regional Trusted Research Environment (TRE) for Lancashire and South Cumbria on Kubernetes and how this has led to where they stand today - the ability to conduct research on multi-modal data using large language models in air-gapped, secure environments.
Vishnu and his team are now deploying their first ever on-prem AI supercomputer platform - the first in the NHS in the North of England. This will allow the TRE to conduct research on over 1PB of medical imaging data and several hundred TBs of unstructured text data.
