This series of three self-contained, but linked, lectures will show how geospatial statistical methods are being used by the Centre for Health Informatics, Computing and Statistics (CHICAS) group within the Lancaster Medical School to address policy-relevant questions in global population health.

All three presentations will focus on the underlying problems that the methods have been designed to address, with technical details kept to a minimum.

Monday 25th October: In this first lecture, Professor Peter Diggle will give an overview of the methods with illustrations in environmental epidemiology.

This event is part of the COP26@ Lancaster University Festival, which aims to spark debate and showcase our leading specialists and research relating to climate change in the run-up to the United Nation’s COP26 in Glasgow. The week-long COP26@ Lancaster University Festival takes place from Wednesday 20th October to Wednesday 27th October 2021.
