Event Details

Lancaster University Law Clinic offers free legal advice to members of the public on a variety of legal issues, including family law, education law, consumer disputes, wills and probate, and other small claims.

The Law Clinic offers face-to-face, telephone and virtual appointments every Monday during term time from 10am - 4pm (please note the last appointment is at 3pm).

The Clinic is run by third year and postgraduate Law students, who provide legal advice under the supervision of a qualified solicitor who is an expert in their field. Client interviews are held with our student advisors, who take details of the case and then draft a letter of advice. Wherever possible, the letter of advice answers the legal queries that arose during the client interview, provides guidance to the client on their options, and/or signposts the client to further sources of assistance. All advice letters are supervised by a qualified solicitor with expertise in the applicable area of law. The Clinic aims to send an advice letter to clients within 21 days of the appointment. Please note that no verbal advice will be given on the day of the interview.
