Dr Minelle Silva of Excelia Business School will present a seminar to the Management Science Department

Abstract: Considering supply chains as social-ecological systems, during this presentation I will argue through a metaphor that sustainability and resilience are dance partners. Therefore, to cope with different turbulent environments, supply chain managers need to mobilise different capabilities as they are performing a dance performance. In addition, I will explore how the supply chain trajectory affects such a dance as the sustainability learning influences resilience, by showing some empirical examples based on my more recent publications on these subjects.
