In celebration of the rock and pop legacy of the Great Hall, we present an in-conversation with Barry Lucas, followed by performances by five contemporary rock and pop artists curated by Lancaster Music Co-operative. Doors open from 5.30pm and a bar will be available.
6-7pm Barry Lucas in conversation with Andrew Barker
Barry, initially as a student and then as a member of the Students' Union, turned Lancaster University into one of the great gig venues of the 1970s and 1980s. He will be talking about what happened, who happened and how it happened - from Paul McCartney to Queen to Joy Division, Blondie, New Order, The Smiths and Tina Turner - they all played Lancaster University.
7.30pm - late - live music
We have a line-up of rock and pop acts curated by Lancaster Music Co-operative playing the venue to celebrate a vibrant and contemporary Lancaster music scene, featuring:
