On Monday 30 June access along the South Spine outside the Management School will be reduced in width while the contractor removes the current hoarding and the Spine to be repaved as part of the Management School East Estate Redevelopment project. An accessible route will be maintained along this route to reduce the impact on Open Days and Graduation.
From Monday 21 July access along this section, the South Spine will be closed completely until Friday 26 September and an accessible diversion will be in place from the Spine through to Fylde Avenue, George Fox Avenue and Charles Carter. Access to the Charles Carter building will remain open. View the accessible diversion route on Mazemap.
During the closure, access to the Science and Technology building will only be possible from the rear of the building.
This work may be noisy at times, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
The original East building is now closed with no access through the Management School from the South Spine entrance/exit to the LUMS Hub. An accessible diversion route is in place from the Spine along the side of the Charles Charter building to the Management School main entrance. View the accessible diversion route on Mazemap.
From Monday 14 July until Friday 26 September the LUMS Hub will be closed for work to take place in this area. The large partition wall will be removed and a standard hoarding put in place to divide the Hub from the work site until its completed. This work will be noisy and may create some disruption to those in the area. Access will be maintained throughout this work to Lecture Theatres 2 & 3 and staff will still be able to access B floor.
The project is currently on programme aiming to complete in December 2025. An additional 3-month programme of works will then follow to upgrade the heating systems to connect them to the new district heating network from the Net Zero Energy Centre in early 2027.
Teaching in lectures theatres 5-8 will finish at the end of the 2024/25 academic year and the lecture theatres will close to allow the contractor to carry out works to the heating system and data cabling. Alternative teaching space will be provided in Lancaster Conference Centre from the beginning of the 2025/26 Michaelmas term. Graduate Management School will remain closed until February 2026.
