South Spine ventilation turret works – Tuesday 20 February to early March 2024

The ISS building on the South Spine

Essential works to the south campus Spine Duct ventilation turret will be undertaken from Tuesday 20 February until early March 2024. The works will take place to the ventilation turret located on the South Spine, and are a continuation of Phase Two of the Spine Duct Improvement Project, which started in 2023 with the target of resolving strategic and technical issues within the University’s spine ducts.

The works will take place on the South Spine near the ISS building, and will include the installation of a cladding system to the new Spine Duct vent turret, in addition to the construction of a new paved area around the turret. This work may cause some localised noise disruption in the immediate area, as power tools are used to break up and remove existing paving around the turret.

We apologise for any disruption caused while we work to improve campus. For more information regarding this and other current and upcoming works across campus please visit News | Lancaster University or contact the Facilities Helpdesk: 01524 593333, facilities.helpdesk@lancaster.ac.uk.
