During August and September there are several events and improvement works taking place on campus that will impact on bus services and roads on campus.

Western Link District Heating System Extension Project

Work to extend the University’s Western Link District Heating System Extension from the Underpass to the Ruskin and Pre-School Centre, as part of the University’s carbon reduction plan, will result in a full closure of the Underpass and a short Perimeter Road closure as follows:

• 1st August 01:00 full Underpass closure - Buses will be diverted to Bowland Avenue.
• Info Lab and Tower Avenue bus stops will not be served throughout the closure.

Note: Motorbike parking already out of use.

• 5th September 05:00 Underpass reopens - Buses return as usual to the Underpass.

5th September 05:30 South West Drive closes between roundabout and Library Avenue:

• Bus no. 100 to proceed directly to SW Campus from Lancaster calling at "Uni Gates", omitting Sports Centre inbound, first underpass call, Management School, Lonsdale College and Cartmel College. Normal route then applies from Graduate College via InfoLab to Underpass and Sports Centre outbound.
• Preston and Blackpool services northbound are unaffected.
• Preston and Blackpool services southbound and bus no. 4 to serve underpass only
• 05:30 12th September 5:30 South West Drive reopens – Normal services resume.

Cycling Event

• 29th August 9:00 North Perimeter Road closes - Buses that normally stop in the Underpass will instead stop at the Management School southbound and roundabout shelter northbound.
• 29th August 17:00 the North Perimeter Road reopens - Underpass remains closed, buses continue to use Bowland Avenue temporary bus stop.

Triathlon Event – Sunday 4th September

• 4th September 8:00 Main Drive and Perimeter Road close - Buses diverted via A6 and to call at Graduate College only.
• 4th September 14:00 Main Drive and Perimeter Road reopen. Underpass remains closed - Buses continue to use Bowland Avenue temporary bus stop.
